Edit Links After Creation — Never Lose a Click

You just shared a short link with your entire mailing list and realized the destination URL has a typo. Or your marketing team redesigned the landing page and the old URL now 404s. With most link shorteners, you're stuck — create a new link, lose your click history, and hope people use the new one.

With Clypt, you just edit the link. All analytics stay intact.

What you can edit

Click the three-dot menu on any link in your dashboard, hit Edit, and you can change the destination URL (the page your short link points to), the title and description for your own reference, tags for organization, UTM parameters for campaign tracking, expiration date, and active/inactive status.

Every edit takes effect instantly. The next person who clicks your short link goes to the new destination. No propagation delay, no cache issues.

Why this matters

Links live in the wild. They're in emails people saved, bookmarks, printed materials, social posts from months ago. You can't recall them. But you can control where they go. That's the power of editable links.

Common use cases include fixing typos or broken destinations, rotating seasonal promotions behind the same link, A/B testing landing pages manually, updating campaign tracking parameters mid-flight, and deactivating links that should no longer work.

Analytics carry over

When you edit a link, you don't lose a single click. The analytics timeline shows the full history — before and after the edit. You can see exactly when the destination changed and how it affected click behavior.

Available on all plans

Link editing is available on every Clypt plan, including Free. Create a link, share it, and edit it anytime from your dashboard.
