Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you use Clypt, we collect information you provide directly (such as your email address when creating an account) and information generated through your use of the service. For link analytics, we collect anonymized click data including approximate geographic location (country level), device type, browser type, and referring website. We do not store raw IP addresses — all IPs are immediately hashed using a daily-rotating salt and are not reversible.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve Clypt's services, including link shortening, analytics, and AI-powered insights. Analytics data is aggregated and presented to link owners to help them understand their audience. We may use your email address to send service-related communications.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share anonymized, aggregated analytics data that cannot be used to identify individuals. We use third-party services (such as hosting providers and AI services) to operate Clypt, and these providers may process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Click analytics data is retained based on your plan tier (30 days for free, up to unlimited for Enterprise). You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed IP addresses, and secure authentication via magic links and OAuth. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
