Tags & Folders: Organize Links Like a Pro
When you have 10 links, you can eyeball your dashboard. When you have 500, you need a system. Clypt's tags and folders give you two complementary ways to organize your links — hierarchy for structure, tags for cross-cutting views.
Folders: your link filing cabinet
Folders in Clypt work like folders on your computer — but with nesting. Create a top-level folder for each client, project, or business unit, then add subfolders for campaigns, quarters, content types, or whatever structure makes sense for you.
Moving links between folders is drag-and-drop simple. If you delete a folder, child links and subfolders automatically move up to the parent — nothing ever gets orphaned or lost.
Tags: flexible cross-cutting labels
Tags complement folders by letting you label links across different hierarchies. A link in the "Q1 Campaign" folder can also be tagged "social", "blog", and "product-launch". When you need to see all product-launch links regardless of which folder they're in, just filter by tag.
Tags are color-coded, so you can visually scan your dashboard and immediately identify campaign types at a glance. Colors are customizable per tag.
Creating and managing tags
Create a tag from the link creation or edit flow — just type a name and pick a color. Tags are scoped to your account, so your "social" tag won't conflict with another user's. You can rename or recolor tags at any time, and the change applies everywhere that tag is used.
Filtering and search
Your dashboard search works with tags and folders. Type a tag name to filter, or select a folder from the sidebar to scope your view. Combine both — show all links tagged "social" inside the "Product Launch" folder.
API support
Tags and folders are fully available through the REST API. Create tags, assign them to links, and organize into folders programmatically. The MCP integration supports them too — tell your AI agent to "create a link in the Q2 Campaign folder tagged social and email."
Available on all plans
Tags and folders are included on every plan. Free users get up to 10 tags and 5 folders. Pro and above get unlimited of both.
